RSH eG held its member show “Neumünster am Abend” in the evening of January 23rd 2020 in the well-visited Holsten halls.

Progeny groups at the show “Neumünster am Abend 2020”

Approx. 350 cows of the breeds Holstein, Red Holstein, Red & White dual purpose and Angler/Red Cattle attended the show this year.

The evening traditionally started with progeny presentation of young, progeny tested RSH bulls. The Black & White daughters of Dijon, Trans-Am, Miracel and Custos, and the Red & White daughters of the bull Brekan, the daughters of the Red & White dual purpose sire Olpe DN and the deep red daughters of the bull Sevillo entered the ring.

A highlight of the evening was the election of the progeny champion. The high quality of the cattle impressed the judges who had a tough job, but finally the Custos daughter Conny owned by the agricultural cooperative Kandelin in Süderholz convinced and became champion here. The reserve champion title was won by the Miracel daughter Ohs Vana owned by Klaus Heldt from Groß Schlamin.

Among the Red Holsteins a daughter of the RSH sire Brekan, the heifer Viola raised by Stephanie Fischer, dominated here. At first she won the champion title of the Red Holstein progeny cows and excelled once more later in the show cow competition in her class of young Red & White cows. She won the second champion title there on this evening. Tourmette daughter Tamina (champion) and Brekan daughter Uefa (reserve champion) became champions in the Red Holstein intermediate class. Prima (s. Dertour) owned by Lars Reimers, Westerhorn, and Max Engelland from Kropp won the title of the reserve champion in the class “old Red Holstein” this year.

The Red & White dual purpose cows were judged in five classes. Only one cow could dominate them all that night and, therefore, Ranina (s. Oskur) owned by Thies Karstens from Tensbüttel-Röst became champion.

The Nougat daughters Vicky and Uranka excelled in the class of young Anglers and lifted the champion and reserve champion title. In the class of the old Anglers, Eukal daughter Lady won, who has already had nine calves in the meantime.

Polka (s. Gold Chips) owned by Dirk Huhne from Kasseedorf became grand champion 2020.

We are happy about these great achievements and ranks and congratulate the breeders and owners, wishing all the best and lots of success with Genetics made in Germany in future!
