Hot, hotter – show summer 2018 in Europe

July is almost over now and many shows took place across Europe where several daughters of our sires presented themselves impressively.

At the regional show of the Normandy in Forges-les-Eaux, France, on June 2nd 2018, Mad Max daughter Mad Max owned by Gaec de Grosmont ranked first in her class of the heifer category. On the following weekend, June 8th to 10th, the Festiv‘Agri took place in Lezay. An open heifer show with 200 registered animals was held there. Our red conformation sire Mad Max had another iron in the fire again. Lbb Zoumax owned by Gaec du Bois Brillant became second in her class and reserve champion of the show later. Almost at the same time at the heifer show of the department Morbihan in Buléon, Anamur daughter Da Wekon Niagara of Earl David Benard got a 1c rank.

The regional show of the department L‘Eure-et-Loir in Senonches followed on June 15th 16th. There was also a success among the Black & White Holsteins. Baltikum daughter Cap Mamba (owner: Earl Caron Pascal et Associes) became third of her class.

Several shows took place one week later on June 29th. Let’s stay in France at first. In the type competition of the French young breeders’ competition, Goldday daughter Da Wekon New York (owner: Gaec du Beausejour) ranked second in her group.

Meanwhile, the Luxemburg Summer Classics were held in Ettelbruck, Luxemburg, on occasion of Foire Agricole. Among the red heifers, Matisse Red daughter CSH Ria-Red (owner: C-Sold Jaques Bernard, Reuland & Nikolay, Reuland) ranked 1a. Lorman daughter MLR Frida presented by Paul Mathay, Flebour, became second of her group and Lis Gravity (s. Effort) from the well-known breeding farm LisLéck Holsteins, Wincrange, reached the 1c rank. In the category young, Revival P daughter NHH Sintia (owner: Neser Holsteins, Hamiville) became second of her group.

Far in the north that day, cows tried to win the judges‘ favor in Estonia. Venue was the museum of agriculture in Ülenurme and classes of Holsteins and Estonian Red were judged there. Kanzler daughter Pärja-Red became champion Holstein old and later reserve champion Holstein followed by her barn mate Isaura (s. Iowa). Both cows are housed on the farm Tartu Agro AS in Ilmatsalu.

Among the Red Holsteins, Lutter daughter Pandoora (owner: Kopu PM OÜ) became heifer champion. Emdaru daughter Pääsu, also housed at Kopu PM OÜ, became reserve champion among the young cows. In the category old, it was Mad Max again. His daughter Marga owned by Tartu Agro AS won her category and became reserve champion.

In the beginning of July, the Danish national show took place in Herning. We will report on this later. We congratulate the breeders, owners and exhibitors of the successful cows and wish lots of success with Genetics Made in Germany in future!
