Possible heredity when using polled sires
What will happen when using polled sires?
Most of the time, in practice, heterozygous polled sires (Pp) are mated with cows, having horns (pp).
50% of calves from this will be polled (Pp), the other 50% will get horns (pp). When mating a homozygous polled bull with a horned cow, 100% of the progeny will be polled (Pp).
