The newly founded Pommernschau e.V. and the Rinderzuchtverband M-V e.G. had the kick-off with the 1st Pommern Show and Pommern Baltic Sale for conjoint activities of Polish and German breeders during the presentation of breeding animals on June 11th/12th 2010.

This international sire stack has produced a special bull dam with Shiney RF who can offer two Red Holstein Lawn-Boy-sons in Germany, with an absolutely extravagant pedigree: Laron-P and Shine-P.

It is almost about time: This year’s All European Championship 2010 will take place in Cremona, Italy.

In Germany, there are more and more cows with a very high lifetime production. Shown in figure 1, there were a total of 3,327 living Holstein cows in 2009 which had a lifetime production of more than 100,000 kg. Compared to 2008, the number increased by 413 animals or 12.4%.

On March 17th 2010, the RMV Show ”Rind aktuell" took place in Karow which was also visited by many international visitors (Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Sweden).

Buster-daughter Bertha has been chosen DP cow of the year in The Netherlands. The DP-Verein-Ost selected the 8 year old Bertha from the DP top list of cows with highest classification and productions.

The well-known and popular Lypoll P (Hickorymea Talbot-P-Red) stays constant in the breeding value evaluation of April 2010.

The Carmano-daughter Hillbilly – only 25 months of age – convinced the audience and the judge with her outstanding feet and legs and her excellent udder quality. This very dairy, young cow firstly received the 1a win of her class.

From March 24th until 25th 2010, employees of GGI and RUW were visiting daughters of the RUW sires STABY and TABLEAU. Jeroen Kloosterziel from GGI-Holland portrays his impressions of the progenies.

The red Classic-son Clarin is the son of the Talent2-daughter CTS Tarina, recently chosen Grand Champion at the Excellent Show. During the show she got great EX92 points at the public excellent classification.
 

The enthused judge, L. Weinberg, said about the 30th Excellent Show which took place in Leer on March 10th 2010. And he is right because 13 cows with 6 or more calvings were presented here with impressive quality. 6 cows even had at least 8 calvings.
 

Our world-famous top sire Laudan has an international top class pedigree with Lukas x Raider x Blackstar x Bell x M.E. Tony. This still very popular bull transmits high yield, good udder health, good fitness and high longevity. Highlights are the very strong feet and legs as well as the udders that are highly and firmly attached. Laudan still belongs to the most used bulls in Germany and there is also great international demand for Laudan semen.

Carmano pushed himself to rank 3 among the Red Holstein sires through his first new second crop daughters. He was already celebrated as conformation star when he made his debut in 2006, but this Cadon-son can offer a lot more than just beautiful daughters.

At this year’s “Schau der Besten” on February 25th in Verden, Juote-daughter HSK HAWAII was awarded the champion title of the old classes. HSK HAWAII who calved for the sixth time in February was in best show condition.

Laurel-daughter LASKIA, reserve champion of the old classes of the Red Holsteins, deserves a special reference. She previously achieved the reserve champion title of progeny animals for her sire Laurel at the WEU-Konvent 2009. She really impressed with a deep, open rib and the firmly attached udder characterized by good texture.

XENA born January 13th 2001 is a Laudan-daughter from the Lukas-son’s test. Meanwhile, Laudan has more than 40,000 daughters in many countries and he belongs to the best sires for longevity and fitness worldwide.

The young Douglas-daughter Norma Jeane VG87 could firstly achieve a 1a rank in her class at this year’s International Osnabrueck Black & White Days 2010. She was later awarded with the reserve champion title of the heifer classes.

Patrick already celebrated his 19th birthday in December 2009. The oldest insemination bull still alive in Germany has enjoyed great popularity for years.

The very popular Mtoto-son Manager died on February 22nd 2010.

On February 6th, ZBH invited round to its show “Hessens Zukunft” in Alsfeld. Besides Holstein and Red Holstein also cows of the breeds Jersey, Brown Swiss and Fleckvieh were part of the show.

The German cattle breeders’ federation has published the list of most used bulls in 2009 based on 1st inseminations (FI).

Dav Alaska, a pretty Laudan-daughter from the family Tirsvad Luke Classic, had the highest sales price at the auction of the herd of GAEC Daval (Loire-Atlantique) with 8,600 €.

On January 28th 2010, the animal show “Neumünster am Abend“ of the Rinderzucht Schleswig-Holstein took place. Approximately 320 animals of the breeds Holstein, Red Holstein, Holstein DN and Angler were lined up to contest in the well-attended hall.

From 14th to 17th January 2010 the Swiss Expo in Lausanne took place. Among the Red-Holsteins Sir Ridgedal RUSTLER RED was the dominating sire with a total of 24 daughters.

Tiamo-daughter LIJSJE 179 recently got the highest classification for heifers in the Netherlands with VG 89 points.

Progeny group
The Nikolaus show started with the progeny group of Meteor (v. Titanic), who will get his first breeding value in January. Meteor comes from Canada and shows an uncommon bloodline with the combination Titanic x Emerson x Mason.

At the time, when Fieldhouse came out with his phantastic linear, his owner Weser-Ems-Union offered a prize of 1,000 EUR for the first daughter classified EX of its bull Fieldhouse.

At the Agromek show in Denmark, the Manager-daughter RISBAK MANAGER JOELINE was awarded reserve champion.
