September shows in France
September has not ended yet and we already had great show news for this month. Two shows took place at the same time on September 8th and 9th 2018.
Let’s start with the show of the Departement Maine-et-Loire taking place on the fairgrounds in Chemille. A daughter of our popular Red Holstein conformation sire Mad Max played to the gallery again. Lbb Zoumax was among the young cattle and won her group at first before she became champion of her age group finally. She was brought to the show by Gaec du Bois Brillant. Among the old cows having 4 lactations, Van Gogh daughter Gree du Bois Helka Gb excelled and won the group resulting in great joy of her owner Gaec la Gree du Bois.
At the same time to the east in the Departement Loire, in Nandax: Billard daughter Istra owned by Gaec du Petit Nice was very successful among the old cows. This deep-black third calver won her group and was awarded the title of the best udder of the group. She could defend these two awards during the winner election of the old cows as well, amongst others against the fourth calver Van Gogh daughter Hulotte, who also won her group. She had the group’s best udder, too. During the final decision, it got exciting again as Billard daughter Istra finally became grand champion of the show.
The SPACE in Rennes took place one week later. Gree du Bois Helka Gb also attended this event and defended herself on a high level. The Van Gogh daughter reached the second rank in her group of cows having four lactations. During the show competition of the Red Holsteins the second calver Java Red (s. Dekade) owned by Gaec Sud Armor became third of her group. The cows having three or more lactations were dominated by the Mind P daughter Iliade who was brought to the show by Gaec de Toul Manach. Innee, another Dekade daughter, became second in this category. Her owner is Gaec Filatre. While Iliade dominated during the final decision and got the title “grand champion of the Red Holsteins”, Glene (s. Jerudo) of the same age owned by Gaec des Rubis became champion of the longevity competition.
We congratulate all breeders and owners on these great achievements and wish lots of success with genetics made in Germany in future!
