Danish national show in Herning

The show summer is in full swing and the Danish national show 2017 took place in Herning.

More than 46,500 visitors took the opportunity to inform themselves about topics of agriculture and animal breeding at the fair Landsskuet 2017 from June 29th to July 1st 2017. On this occasion, the Danish national Holstein show was held again.

Among the Black & White Holsteins, a Bube daughter that had her first calf owned by Mogens Juul Nielsen from Vemb reached a deserved third rank in her category. A Goldday daughter owned by Lærke Altena made it to rank four in her class of the second and third calvers.

In the class of cows having four lactations and more, a Goldday daughter from the Hammershøj farm in Hobro could assert herself and won in her class.

Six calver Stortoft Maja owned by family Kragh from Henne became Holstein grand champion.

Among the Red Holsteins, three heifers of GGI sires stood on the winners‘ podium in the second class. This class was won by a Perfection daughter owned by Borup Holsteins, that also became heifer reserve champion, followed by a Brekan daughter owned by Tøvestensgaarden and a Kajak P daughter housed on the farm of family Altena in Tim.

A Fageno daughter won the category of the Red Holstein first calvers. She is owned by Borup Holsteins, too. This animal was honored as best heifer as well. Among the old cows having four and five lactations, a Kairo daughter owned by Kim Fagerlin from Tjele reached rank three and was awarded the title “best udder”.

There was another success for Borup Holsteins in the class of long-term production cows. A Jerudo daughter reached the very good second rank here.

We congratulate the breeders and owners and wish lots of success in future with Genetics made in Germany!
